Migration Madness Workshop
May 15-17, 2026
Sunsets & Sunrises
The shore of the Delaware Bay has magnificent sunrises and sunsets. The tidal flats reflect morning colors like no place around. Long views, reflections, piers, pilings, marshes, horizons, and color.
Shorebirds, Shorebirds, Shorebirds!
Tired shorebirds in fresh breeding plumage will be abundant in the thousands with the presence of horseshoe crab eggs. They’ll be more focused on food than photographers and we’ll take full advantage of their feeding frenzy. Crossed fingers for red knots, ruddy turnstones, oystercatchers, black skimmers, plovers, killdeer, and many more.
Horseshoe Crab Migration
Our planet’s oldest and largest migration. Horseshoe crabs are 400 million years old and migrate en masse from the depths of the ocean to the shallow tidal flats of the Delaware Bay to lay millions of eggs. It is a sight to behold, offering much for the wildlife photographer.
